I have great news! And an urgent request for your help.

 

Last year, Bread & Roses brought hope and healing to 27,000 isolated children and adults by presenting 613 uplifting performances, more than ever before in the organization’s storied 35-year history.  What an amazing accomplishment, during a year of major economic challenges.

We reached this milestone thanks to volunteers and staff who worked day and night, seven days a week, and donors, like you, who understand that Bread & Roses depends on us, year in and year out, to set the stage for the healing power of live music.

Last year at this time, I asked you to support Bread & Roses and offered to match your gift, dollar for dollar, up to $50,000.  

Because you have responded so generously in the past, I am stepping forward again with the same urgent request:  Please give generously to Bread & Roses, right now, at this critically important time of year, and I will match your gift, dollar for dollar, up to $50,000. Everyone at Bread & Roses is counting on us.  Both staff and volunteers are poised to repeat last year’s amazing record of service to communities throughout the Bay Area.  Consider, for a moment, some of the people relying on us and the impact your gift will make . . .

Karen Zanetell, Chief of Therapeutic Activities at the Yountville Department of Veteran’s Affairs, observes: “The geriatric residents as well as the young folks returning from Iraq and Afghanistan benefit from the beauty, soulfulness and generosity of your musicians. Music reaches deep to heal, gather folks together and mend wounded psyches. Thank you for your profound generosity.”

 

Cindy Fox, Center Director at Pickleweed Children’s Center in San Rafael writes: Our children “would not have the chance to experience live shows if it were not for the [ones] you bring to us each year. . . their lives are enriched by each performance. Thanks to you and your contributors for these wonderful, life expanding afternoons!”
