Even though there were clouds in the evening sky, and a light rain started to fall, Monday night, April 19th was a hot night at Delancey Street. Around 200 residents packed the Delancey Street Town Hall for a very special Bread & Roses highlight show. Bay Area resident and legendary performer Maria Muldaur gave a sizzling performance that would not soon be forgotten. Backed by a group of incredibly talented musicians, Maria shimmied, shook and sang her way through a 90-minute set that had everyone on their feet time after time.

Maria took the audience on a musical journey through the 20's and 30's, sang some gospel tunes and some Cajun "bluesianna" songs that only she can sing. Maria has been singing and playing around the world for many years, and proved that time has only made her more beloved as a performer.

Muldaur's exceptional band -- Chris Burns on keyboards and bass, Bruce David on drums, and "Mighty Mike" Schermer on guitar grooved throughout the evening, and took their turns at the microphone, which added to the fun. It was a very special evening.
